From working in a gamestore myself: yes, completely legit, original run Nightfall and Factions CEs do still pop up from time to time. Unsold stock from... wherever. A local store just got some Factions CEs for around 25eur (normal Factions price is currently 20eur).

As for the CEs not containing pets, I wonder about this. It's all one code. A friend and I are currently sorting out a case with support regarding a Proph CE key that... isn't a CE key, when it absolutely should be. I have yet to completely rule out the possibility that Anet has mucked something up with CE keys on their end.

If I remember right, no, they won't link. and you can't use the NCsoft(US) site for that product...i.e. free storage pane, account must be registered/linked via NCsoft(EU) etc..etc..

once new account is made you'll be in an international dis, but you can now travel freely throughout all districts, not like the old days. run 2 GW clients, make your trades (pet trades I assume) to main account. and bam. done.

I hope that's not the case as I wanted to add these to an existing US prophecies account, but it's a secondary account anyway so not that big a deal if it won't link.

I didn't go through NCSoft for my current US accounts however, just signed up via the GW client.

Hmm...well, there goes my plan to give the account to my friend then.

But still, I have the chance for that Mini Kuunavang though...just gotta wait that 24 hour gap before I could trade...if everything goes smoothly of course.

wait and see what they ship you. last time I bought a CE it came from ncsoft(EU). that key couldn't be linked with an alt account I had for NA. things may be different now. Just don't get excited if you try to add those keys to your existing account and they come up as invalid. they aren't.

also, that particular CE was a full size box. the swag from either won't fit in a standard dvd case.

. It would be added to my friend's account (the nub refuses to get Factions) if NA-EU-JPN-ASIA etc whatever linking worked. If it does not, then I'll simply make the standard Factions-only account, wait for that initial 24 hr trade ban to life, create and swap the mini to my own account and then LOL.

But even if all I got were a mousepad, a poster, the CDs etc, it'll be worth it.

I have an account bought in the US and my Proph CE key is from the UK accordingly to the CD sleeve (UK-CO) and it added just fine, I don't see why keys from other places shouldn't work.

again it's been so long since I added anything to my account(s).

looking at it now, I can only guess that I may have tried to add a Factions CE key to an account that already had the Factions CE. It's the only answer I can come up with.

I definitely do remember when I used that account (faction ce, bought from NCsoft EU) I had to register with an altogether new e-mail and the NCsoft(NA) site wouldn't recognize the key. I had to use the NCsoft europe site to link account and get free storage offered by Ncsoft/Anet.

yeah that has to be where I am steering you wrong. I tried to enter a CE key on top of another. so the keys should add but in a sense, all you'll be doing is adding the dances and gifts to your main. you'll miss out on "free" alt storage.
by free storage I mean the ability to create mules, not the offer that was given out for the free storage pane.

-sorry for any confusion, this is what happens when you get old and feeble minded. that and i'm juggling quite a few alt accounts. ;-P

I just looked on the gogamer.com website then and now the "international" collectors editions are listed as pre-orders for the 30th of october...maybe they are real.

Sometimes copies of that just pop up for cheap. I've never been to gogamer.com before, but I've seen CEs on ebay (Factions and Nightfall) for ~$20 a few times.

I got my own Nightfall CE for about $9 (after tax, and the area of the US I live in has the highest sales tax rate in the country). If I had waited another month, I could have gotten it for free

(I work for Gamestop, and recently the GW CEs were pennied out in the inventory systems. Every so often I search to see what stores still have a Factions CE in their inventory, and debate calling the stores and seeing if they actually still and one and if they'll transfer it to my store).

I assume the date changes are due to them being sold out currently. But the price change worries me a bit. Could be that the sale copies sold out and now its back to regular price or more likely it was a price mistake.

Plus the fact that my order is still "Pending" on Paypal leads me to believe that they might not be honoring the price. Or maybe they are just busy from the high demand and didn't process my order yet.

I can confirm that some of the original Proph CE keys were actually normal keys and NOT the CE ones. Back when Prophecies originally came out, I worked for their main distributor here in the UK, and I was actually asked to open and check a number of Proph CE products at random to ensure they had CE keys.. a couple of them didn't. So I'm guess NCsoft is aware of the problem (or at least they should be).

I suspected as much, since I have heard several reports of key code issues for other editions that seem related - no keycard in one box, two in another, an entire small run with no cards... my friend and I got the situation settled with Anet, in her favor, and your post further strengthens my conclusion that things did not go completely smoothly for the Proph CE and Anet is aware of it.

I don't know how they appeared in the US, but here in the UK, the keycode was actually printed on the cardboard sleeve of one of the CD's, just covered with a scratch off area. But also printed was where the Code was valid for and the type of code (UK-CO for example for the UK Collectors Edition)..

I believe during manufacture some normal version (I believe they were German) CD sleeves got mixed in with the Collectors Edition ones.

But getting this topic back on track, there is/was only one key code in the Factions and NF Collectors edition boxes. So even if you only have the keycode you still get Kunna,... and Varesh...

No shipping confirmation here yet but also no cancellation notice. The fact that they now appear to be out of stock bodes well for them filling the orders received yesterday, I hope. Though I wonder, since it says pre-order and not back-order, if they ever had any of them in stock in the first place.
